Thiruvananthapuram: Women's special clinics (Strengthening Her to Empower Everyone - STHREE) are being established in all public health centres across the state. The state-level inauguration of these clinics will be conducted by health minister Veena George at Pallithura public health centre in Thiruvananthapuram on Tuesday.In conjunction with the inauguration, a specialty camp will be organized here at 9am on Tuesday. The minister said that during this govt's tenure, 5,415 public health centres were set up. These centres are undertaking strong interventions to reduce illness in the community and ensure health for all. Public health centres operate at village and urban levels, focusing on every 5,000 population. They have become hospitals close to home. She said women's clinics are being started to provide clinics for women and children, neighbourhood screening camps and specialist services centred around these public health centres, which have become pillars of public health. The women's clinic will operate every Tuesday. These clinics can diagnose issues such as anaemia, diabetes, hypertension and cancer screening, along with other health problems. As part of this campaign, special tests for women and expert examinations and awareness programmes at family health centres will be conducted, focusing on neighbourhoods. The minister urged the women to visit such wellness clinics for health check-ups.

Mumbai, Jun 27 (PTI) No COVID-19 case was reported in Mumbai on Friday, the feat achieved for the first time in about two months, the metropolis' civic body said. In a release, the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation also said no new or concerning variant of the virus has been detected in the city as per the Whole Genome Sequencing Report.
