New Delhi [India], September 15 (ANI): Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta on Monday stressed that the government is taking strong steps to control flooding and air pollution in the city. The chief minister said drainage systems across the city have been cleaned, reducing waterlogging during rains, adding that the current flooding is limited to the Yamuna floodplain areas due to timely preparations. Speaking at Aadhar Infra Confluence 2025, Rekha Gupta said, We are working on all points where, during heavy rains, waterlogging is a big problem. We have done some work on all these points. Now, the waterlogging issue during the rains has been almost resolved. Looking at the flood-like situation in Delhi, we are already prepared. We have completed the necessary preparations, and the drainage systems have been cleaned. That is why the flood in the Yamuna River is only in the Yamuna floodplain areas. We are working on solutions so that people living in the floodplain do not have to face problems. The Chief Minister said the government is fully prepared to tackle air pollution during the winter.
