Agartala (Tripura), September 14, 2025 (ANI): The grand closing ceremony of the traditional Neermahal Jal Utsav 2025 was held today at Rajghat, Melaghar in Sepahijala district, marking the conclusion of a series of cultural and traditional events. The festival, steeped in cultural and historical significance, drew large crowds and tourists, celebrating Tripura's rich heritage against the backdrop of the iconic Neermahal, the "Water Palace" built in the 1930s. Tripura Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha graced the occasion as chief guest, while Transport Minister Sushant Chaudhary, Tourism Director Prashant Badal Negi, and several other dignitaries were also present, underlining the state government's emphasis on heritage tourism and cultural promotion. The festival featured traditional boat races, cultural performances, and exhibitions that showcased Tripura's vibrant traditions. Addressing the gathering, CM Dr. Saha reiterated the government's commitment to strengthening tourism infrastructure and preserving the state's cultural identity through such festivals.
