Bhubaneswar: AIIMS Bhubaneswar will soon roll out the AI-based 'Never Alone' app to strengthen student mental health support and prevent suicides. Launched nationally on World Suicide Prevention Day at AIIMS Delhi, the app offers 24×7 secure access through WhatsApp for screening, intervention, and follow-up care. Students can connect virtually or offline with psychiatrists, counsellors, and trained volunteers. Using AI, the app generates diagnostic summaries and treatment links, routed to experts as per student preference. Implemented by the Department of Psychiatry, the initiative builds an integrated support network, aiming to reduce stigma, ensure confidentiality, and foster a healthier academic environment.
