JODHPUR: On the day when the Supreme Court passed an order to remove all stray dogs from Delhi NCR streets, the Rajasthan High Court also issued a similar order on Monday. The order directed the municipal bodies, the National Highway Authority of India, and other agencies to launch a special drive to remove stray animals from cities and highways. The court listed the matter for the next hearing on September 8.The division bench of Justice Kuldeep Mathur and Justice Ravi Chirania also appealed to the people to go to the govt and private shelters to feed the animals. The high court directed the highway authority to regularly patrol highways to remove stray animals from the roads without hurting them.With these directions, the court sought a detailed report on the condition and maintenance of the stray dog shelters and gaushalas, along with the availability of workers and doctors to remove these stray animals. Referring to the resistance of the public against such drives to remove and catch the stray cattle by the municipal bodies, the high court also ordered the filing of FIRs against persons disturbing such drives.With these directions, the high court stated that no stray dogs should be seen roaming around and that people should be able to walk and commute without any fear of them.
