Haveri: Former chief minister and MP Basavaraj Bommai dismissed the Maharashtra chief minister's opposition to the Almatti dam height increase as unfounded and unsuitable. During a press conference in Haveri on Saturday, he referenced an existing tribunal order confirming no flood risks for Sangli and other Maharashtra regions. He noted that floods occurred in Sangli before the Almatti dam's construction, including a significant flood in 2005.
