Bihar Voter List 2025: The Election Commission of India (ECI) shared the final voter list for Bihar after doing a month-long Special Intensive Revision (SIR). This revision was important because Bihar is expected to have assembly elections later this year. The final list shows that the state had around 7.89 crore voters as of June 24, 2025. But the Election Commission only got back 7.24 crore forms from voters. These forms are called enumeration forms, or EFs. So around 65.64 lakh forms were not returned, which means these voters were not added to the draft list. Indian Youth Congress Protests Against Alleged Voter List Manipulation in Bihar In Patna district, which has the most voters, the total number of voters was 50.47 lakh, but the commission only received 46.51 lakh forms. In Gaya, there were 31.47 lakh voters but only 29.01 lakh forms came back. Sitamarhi had 26.27 lakh voters, but only 23.82 lakh forms were received. In Araria, out of 20.82 lakh voters, the ECI got 19.24 lakh forms. Purnia had 22.68 lakh voters, but only 19.94 lakh forms were submitted. In Darbhanga, there were 30.03 lakh voters but the ECI only received 27.99 lakh forms. Siwan had 26.09 lakh voters, and the ECI got 23.87 lakh forms. In Vaishali, there were 26.74 lakh voters and 24.48 lakh forms were received. Begusarai had 22.45 lakh voters but only 20.77 lakh forms were returned. In Jamui, 13.40 lakh voters were listed, and 12.48 lakh forms came back. These missing forms mean that many voters may not be included in the final list, which is causing a lot of concern in the state. The ECI started the revision work in June. This revision was called Special Intensive Revision or SIR. Voters had to fill a form and give it back to the booth-level officer (BLO) or the booth-level agents (BLA) from political parties. The forms asked for documents that could prove the voter's identity. This whole drive ended on July 25. People still have time till September 1 to complain if they think their names were deleted wrongly. Many people who couldn't return the forms are now worried their names might be gone from the list. They are asking for a debate on this issue in Parliament. But the government is not allowing it. They said that Parliament is not allowed to talk about the work done by the Election Commission. Kiren Rijiju, the Parliamentary Affairs Minister, said, "This is not the first time the EC is doing it. Whether Parliament can discuss the EC's administrative work or not is for the Chair to decide in accordance with rules."
