Thiruvananthapuram: The state-level Onam celebration will be held from Sept 3 to 9. District-level celebrations will be organised under the leadership of District Tourism Promotion Councils (DTPC).The decision was made in a meeting chaired by CM Pinarayi Vijayan. Vijayan instructed that various departments should coordinate to organise the Onam celebrations in an expansive and attractive manner.The area from Kowdiar to Manacaud in Thiruvananthapuram will be declared a festival zone, with enhanced decorative lighting. The events will be conducted under the theme of 'Green Onam', adhering to environmental guidelines.Onam fairs will be organised at the district, CDS and ADS levels under the leadership of Kudumbashree, a press release stated. Kudumbashree also undertook vegetable and flower cultivation, with the harvest to be completed before Onam.A kit containing all necessary items for Onam will be made available both in-person and online.
