Threat mails continue for fourth day, SRCC & Hindu among 40 institutions at receiving end | Delhi News - Times of India

New Delhi: Over 40 educational institutions, including Hindu College, SRCC and Indraprastha College for Women, across Delhi received threat emails on Thursday night, prompting emergency responses across the city. It was the fourth consecutive day of such threats with similar messages sent to multiple educational institutions on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday.A coordinated security operation was carried out at all the affected schools, which involved Delhi Police's bomb disposal teams, cybercrime units and dog squads.The threatening email, sent under subject line 'Roadkill' on July 17, claimed that explosives had been planted in school classrooms hidden inside black plastic bags. The sender threatened casualties, stating, "I will erase every one of you from this world. I will gladly laugh when I watch the news only to see parents show up at the school and to be greeted by the cold, dismembered bodies of their children." The message also accused mental health professionals of neglect and harm.The mail sent on Wednesday mentioned 'Roadkill' as well. While police traced the mails sent on Tuesday to a 12-year-old boy, senders of other mails are yet to be traced.Delhi Fire Services officials said that nine schools made distress calls between 4.30am and 9.40am on Friday. The first call came from St. Thomas School in Dwarka at 4.30am, followed by Richmond School in Paschim Vihar at 4.55am, Guru Nanak School in Pitampura at 6.08am, Abhinav Public School, Sector-3 Rohini at 8am, Sovereign Public School in Rohini at 8.16am, GD Goenka, Dwarka at 8.40am, Delhi International School in Rohini at 9am, Queen Global School in Dilshad Garden also at 9am, and St. Xavier's School in Civil Lines at 9.36am.
