UDUPI: The body of a missing fisherman was recovered on Wednesday evening. The deceased is Jagannath, 50.In a complaint, Akash said that his uncle went fishing on June 15 at around 6 am, along with Suresh, Lohith, and Santosh in a gillnet fishing boat named Sri Hakrematha Yaksheshwari. After completing their fishing trip, they were returning and nearing the outer gate of the Gangolli port when they were caught in a sudden and intense storm. A strong wave hit the boat, causing all four men to fall into the sea along with the boat.Of the four, Santosh was rescued by fishermen from a nearby boat, and three others were reported missing. The body of Lohith Kharvi was found washed ashore near Kodi Lighthouse, Kundapur, on Wednesday morning, and in the evening, the body of Jagannath was found washed ashore near Kinara Hotel on the coast at Kodi, Kundapur. A case has been registered at the Kundapur Police Station.

Kolkata: Thirty-four fishermen from Kakdwip in two fishing trawlers were allegedly detained by the Bangladesh Navy in the early hours of Monday for allegedly crossing into Bangladeshi waters while fishing in the Bay of Bengal.
