New Delhi: At least seven people have been killed following an incident in Hathras district of Uttar Pradesh. The accident took place at Mathura-Bareilly highway near Jaitpur village when a passenger vehicle (Magic) collided with a container truck on Tuesday afternoon. Several other people are also reportedly injured in the accident. The injured have been shifted to district hospital for treatment. Police and administration officials have reached the spot for relief and rescue operation. Reports say that some 20 people commuting in Magic truck were going to see a cancer patient in Etah. The injured and victims are residents of Kumharai village in Chandpa in Hathras. The victims were going to visit a 60-year-old cancer patient in Nagla Imliya village in Etah. When they reached near Jaitpur village on the Salempur-Bareilly-Mathura road at Hathras Junction area, a container truck rammed into the Magic. The impact was so strong that the passenger vehicle overturned multiple times and fell into a ditch.
Hyderabad: Twelve people were arrested in connection with Wednesday's violent protest against an ethanol factory proposed at Pedda Dhanwada village in Jogulamba district.
