Bhubaneswar: Soumyashree Bisi, a second-year Integrated B.Ed student at Fakir Mohan Autonomous College in Balasore, lost her battle to severe burn injuries on late Monday night at AIIMS Bhubaneswar. Bisi, who set herself ablaze outside the principal's chamber on July 12, succumbed to her injuries at 11:46 PM on Monday. She sustained 90-95% burn injuries, with severe damage to her kidneys, respiratory system, and internal organs due to fire-related inhalation and extensive burns. Despite intensive treatment, including renal replacement therapy at the Burns ICU, she could not survive, according to AIIMS Bhubaneswar. Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi expressed his condolences on Bisi's demise.
