Itanagar: A labourer working at a construction site succumbed to his bullet injuries at the Tomo Riba Institute of Health and Medical Sciences (TRIHMS) at Naharlagun near here on Monday, police said.The labourer, identified as Shankar Pegu, a native of Borajuli village under Gingia police station in Assam's Biswanath district, was shot at Roing in Lower Dibang Valley district by one Tadar Bhai after a heated argument over some financial transactions, IGP (law and order) Chukhu Apa said.Pegu received a bullet injury on his head, Apa added.After the incident, the accused brought the victim to TRIHMS for treatment in Naharlagun. However, Pegu succumbed to his injuries on Monday morning, the IGP said. He added that the accused, a resident of Sagalee in Arunachal's Papum Pare district, has been arrested.A police team from Lower Dibang Valley arrived here and took the accused into custody, the official added.Pegu is survived by his parents, wife and two daughters.This is the second incident in the last few days in the district. On July 11, a migrant worker was lynched by a mob for alleged sexual assault on several minors in a school at Roing.
