Bhubaneswar, July 11 (UNI) Odisha will host the World Athletics Continental Tour (Bronze Level), State Sports Minister Suryavanshi Suraj announced today. The world-class event will be held on August 10, 2025, at the Kalinga Stadium in Bhubaneswar. Addressing the media, Suraj said that athletes from more than 150 disciplines and from 10 countries, including India, Turkmenistan, Bhutan, the Philippines, South Korea, Malaysia, Iraq, Vietnam, the Republic of Cameroon, Sri Lanka, Iran, and others from across the continent, will participate in the event -- being hosted in Odisha for the first time. Suraj stated, "It is a matter of pride and honour for us to organise this event for the first time," adding that extensive preparations are underway to ensure its successful execution. The Minister said that from providing world-class sports infrastructure to ensuring safe accommodation, hospitality, and logistics for participating athletes, all necessary arrangements are being made. He added that Odisha has carved out a special place for itself in hosting international-level sporting events.
