HYDERABAD: The Hyderabad-origin Bejugam family of four, who died in a car crash in Alabama, could not be identified through DNA testing as their bodies were charred beyond recognition. Instead, authorities established their identities through circumstantial evidence, including vehicle ownership, number of occupants, and their travel route.The victims, identified as Venkat Bejugam (40), his wife Tejaswini Cholleti (36), and their children Siddarth (9) and Mrida (7) were returning to Dallas after dropping off elderly parents in Atlanta when a mini truck travelling the wrong way collided head-on with their vehicle at 10.17pm on Saturday in Greene County, Alabama. The car caught fire instantly, leaving no survivors.Authorities said the remains are expected to be released from Alabama by Thursday. Venkat and Tejaswini, both IT professionals working for Indian companies, had moved to the US a couple of years ago and were living in the Sutton Fields community near Dallas."They were returning after a weekend trip when the tragedy struck.
