Former Arunachal MLA killed in jumbo attack | Guwahati News - Times of India

Itanagar: Former MLA Kapchen Rajkumar was killed in an attack by a herd of wild elephants while he was on way to Deomali from his house in Namsangin in Tirap district on Wednesday.Born on April 15, 1960, Rajkumar represented the erstwhile Khonsa North assembly constituency in Tirap district from 1985 to 1990. Rajkumar did his early education from Ramakrishna Mission School, Narottamnagar, Deomali, and later studied at Khonsa Govt Higher Secondary School. He also completed a commercial pilot training course at Safdarjung airport, New Delhi. CM Pema Khandu has expressed deep shock and grief over Rajkumar's death. In a message here on Wednesday evening, Khandu said, "Kapchen Rajkumar's commitment to the welfare of the people and his relentless pursuit of progress for Tirap will leave a lasting legacy. It is a profound loss not only for his family and friends but for all those whose lives he touched through his work. His dedication to serving the community and his contributions to our society will always be remembered."Offering condolences to the bereaved family members and relatives, he prayed for the eternal peace of the departed soul.
