Hyderabad: Starting July 10, passengers travelling between Hyderabad (Kacheguda) and Bengaluru (Yesvantpur) will benefit from a major capacity boost on the Vande Bharat Express. The South Central Railway has announced that the train will operate with 16 coaches, up from the previous 8, effectively doubling its passenger capacity from 530 to 1,128 seats. This expansion comes in response to sustained high demand, with the train consistently operating at over 100 percent occupancy since its launch. The new configuration includes 14 Chair Car coaches (1,024 seats) and 2 Executive Class coaches (104 seats), compared to the earlier setup of 7 Chair Cars and 1 Executive Class coach. The move is expected to significantly ease reservation challenges for travellers between the two major IT hubs.

Hyderabad, Jul 19 (PTI) Union Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw on Saturday said production at the upcoming rail coach factory in Kazipet, Telangana, would begin next year. Vijayawada (Andhra Pradesh), Apr 2 (PTI) The Vijayawada Division of the South Central Railway has recorded its highest-ever gross revenue of Rs 5,907.20 crore along with record freight loading of over 40.6 MT during the financial year 2025-26. Vijayawada Divisional Railway Manager (DRM) Mohit Sonakiya noted that passenger revenue stood at Rs 1,523.90 crore, registering a growth of 9.9 per cent, while the Division transported over 74.1 million passengers. Lucknow: A man accused of kidnapping and raping a three-year-old girl in Lucknow was killed in an encounter with police in the early hours of Friday. The accused was identified as Deepak Verma, 24.Police said he was a habitual offender, and several criminal cases were lodged against him at various police stations.
