SHILLONG, July 6: Amid heartfelt prayers and vibrant cultural displays, the Tibetan community in Shillong came together at the Upper Lumparing Tibetan Monastery on Sunday to mark the 90th birthday of His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama. The celebration was both joyous and symbolic, carrying deeper meaning against the backdrop of the ongoing global discourse surrounding the spiritual leader's succession and China's continued resistance to the Free Tibet movement.
