Ahmedabad: On Friday, another family of an AI 171 crash victim from Gujarat received the second set of mortal remains for last rites. With this, seven families have now received the second set or remains found from the crash site. Sixteen more remains found were sent for DNA analysis, which revealed they belonged to those who had already been identified earlier.The remaining nine families have consented to the hospital performing last rites of any remains that may be found. "After new remains were found, relatives were approached with the consent form to decide how to perform the last rites. If new remains come to light in the future, they will also undergo a similar process. We now have the DNA matching reports as a ready reckoner for the samples," said a health department official.
