Mumbai, July 03: Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader and Maharashtra Minister Nitesh Rane came down heavily against the party workers thrashing the people for not speaking in Marathi in Maharashtra. He dared them to go to Muslim areas like Null Bazar and Mohammed Ali Road in Mumbai and thrash the people living there as they do not speak Marathi. His statement came after the Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) workers thrashed a restaurant owner in Mira Road for nor speaking Marathi. The people in Mira Road came out in support of the restaurant owner and demanded action against those involved in beating him for not speaking Marathi. The shops and hotels in the area remained closed on Thursday (June 03) in protest against the incident. Speaking to the media, Nitesh Rane said, "Hindu ko maara gaya hai, itni himmat jaake Null Bazar aur Mohammed Ali Road pe jaake dikhao na. Woh gol topi aur daadhi wale kya Marathi me baat karte hai kya. Shuddh Marathi me baat karte hai kya. Unko kaan k neeche bajane ki himmat nahi h. Jave Akhtar kya Marathi me baat karta hai kya.
