MUMBAI: A 44-year-old food aggregator delivery man drowned after falling into a swimming pool on the 22nd floor of a residential tower in south Mumbai late Tuesday. The incident happened when Imran Akbar Khozada, a Pydhonie resident, went to deliver food in Darsshan Vonalzo, Grant Road, around 11.50pm Tuesday. "Soon after he stepped out of the lift, he began talking on phone and failed to notice the pool nearby and fell," said a police officer. According to sources, Khozada had called the customer who directed him to the 22nd floor. When he did not reach for a long time, the customer went looking for him and found him lying in the pool.Khozada was rushed to a hospital where he was declared dead. "CCTV camera footage shows him talking on phone and losing his balance and falling into the pool," said an officer. Police are probing if he panicked after the fall or had any health condition leading to the death. An accidental death case was registered by Gamdevi police, which is conducting further probe. tnn
