Encounter breaks out in Kishtwar

JAMMU, July 2: Another encounter broke out between terrorists and security forces in Kanzal Mandu area of Chatroo in Kishtwar district this evening. Follow the Daily Excelsior channel on WhatsApp A Defence spokesperson said: "based on specific intelligence, a joint search operation was underway in Kanzal Mandu area of Kishtwar." He said a contact has been established with the terrorists "The operation is in progress," he added. The encounter started when security forces launched a search and cordon operation in Kanzal Mandu area of Chatroo following specific information about the presence of terrorists this evening. The officials said the terrorists opened fire on noticing the security search parties, leading to a gunfight which was continuing when last reports were received. Reinforcements have been rushed to the area to maintain a tight cordon and neutralize the terrorists, the officials said. Few days back, an encounter took place between security forces and terrorists in Basantgarh area of Udhampur district in which a Pakistani terrorist was eliminated while three others remained untraced.
