Srinagar, Oct 25: Counter Intelligence Kashmir (CIK) today filed a charge sheet against a key operative linked to Pakistan-backed online terror recruitment networks. The charge sheet, submitted before the Special NIA Court in Srinagar, named Aadil Ahmad Khan, son of Ghulam Mohammad Khan, resident of Drien Qazigund, Anantnag. Follow the Daily Excelsior channel on WhatsApp According to a police statement, the case, registered under FIR No. 07/2023, invokes Sections of the IPC and the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act for offences related to spreading hatred, promoting terror activities, and assisting proscribed groups. "Khan played a central role in running an online recruitment network through Facebook and Twitter. His activities focused on spreading extremist content, glorifying terrorism, and motivating Kashmiri youth to join banned organizations like Lashkar-e-Toiba (LeT)." Investigators found that Khan not only propagated digital propaganda but also facilitated recruitment on the ground. His actions were aligned with Pakistan-based handlers working to destabilize Jammu and Kashmir. Earlier, three others were charged in the same case. They include Waseem Ahmad Sheikh, resident of Kandoora Budgam, Junaid Ahmad Mir, resident of Tikkipora Lolab and Shabir Ahmad Gojri, resident of Darbagh Harwan, Srinagar The CIK officials said the investigation remains active. Efforts are ongoing to identify and neutralize the wider digital ecosystem aiding terrorist activities, including social media handlers and sympathizers operating from abroad.
