The National Investigation Agency (NIA) is currently conducting raids across 22 locations in 6 states in connection with a human trafficking case. The operation is part of an investigation into an international human trafficking racket, with potential foreign involvement. According to reports, several people from Bihar's Gopalganj district were lured under the pretext of overseas jobs, only to be trafficked into fake call centers where they were forced to work on cyber fraud schemes. The NIA suspects links to Myanmar and Laos in this racket. Earlier, on October 5, the NIA carried out similar raids in five states in connection with terrorist activities and funding.
