Jammu: An encounter broke out between terrorists and security forces in the dense forests of Kishtwar district in Jammu & Kashmir, Wednesday evening. As per preliminary reports, at least 2-3 terrorists belonging to Pakistan-based terror outfit Jaish-e-Mohammad are likely trapped in the area. The gunfight was reported at around 8:45 PM today in Kuchal area of Chatroo in Kishtwar district after security forces launched an operation based on intelligence inputs about presence of terrorists. According to officials, during the search operation jointly launched by Indian Army, J&K Police, and the CRPF personnel, the terrorists opened fire upon spotting the security forces, triggering an encounter.
