Ujjwal Kumar who is currently serving as a Block Welfare Officer expressed confidence about his selection. However, he admitted that he was surprised to secure the top rank Ujjwal Kumar, from Bihar's Sitamarhi district, secured the top position in the 69th Combined Competitive Examination of the Bihar Public Service Commission. The final result was released on November 26. A resident of Raipur village, Ujjwal Kumar's success story exemplifies the aspirations of a young man from an ordinary, middle-class family. His father, Subodh Kumar, is a local coaching teacher, while his mother is an Anganwadi worker. "I was sure of being selected, but I could not believe the number one rank at all," Ujjwal Kumar said. He is currently posted as a Block Welfare Officer. Speaking about his past, Kumar, who became the BPSC topper shared, "When I was studying in Class 10, some relatives often used to say that this boy was not a student. I was not weak in studies. Even after I left my job after engineering, my relatives scolded my parents a lot. But my parents and siblings kept faith in me." Ujjwal Kumar achieved the top rank in the BPSC examination, having studied in the Hindi medium. "In the last 10 years, no student from the Hindi medium has become the BPSC topper," he said.
