MHOW: A stray dog was found feeding on a headless newborn inside a toilet of Mhow Civil Hospital in the wee hours of Saturday. The authorities are looking for a minor girl, who could be the baby's mother, reports Rajesh Jauhri. A female security guard came upon the grisly sight in the toilet of the general ward around 1:30am - the dog had the newborn's beheaded body in its jaws. Though horrified, the guard recovered from her shock and chased off the stray. The guard alerted hospital authorities and carried the mutilated remains to the mortuary. A search began for the mother. CCTV footage revealed that a young girl entered the toilet shortly before the incident, said Dr HR Verma, who is in charge of the hospital. "Records show the minor girl from a local village was admitted around 9pm on Friday with abdominal pain. Medical staff examined her and prescribed medications. Further tests were scheduled for the next morning. It is believed that the girl gave birth to the child in the toilet.
