2 drug peddlers arrested

UDHAMPUR, June 7: Two notorious drug peddlers were arrested with heroin by Police in Rehambal area of Udhampur, here today. While performing routine vehicle checking duty at Phalata Naka point, a Police team from Police Station Rehambal, led by SHO Sohan Singh, apprehended two persons who were trying to hide from the police team thus arousing suspicion. Upon conducting a thorough frisking of both the persons, police team recovered 5.1 grams of heroin like contraband substance from their possession following which both of them were arrested on the spot. The arrested accused have been identified as Sonu, son of Charagu Ram of Dugli, Chopra Shop, Udhampur and Vishal Kumar, son of Mani Ram of Meghani, Udhampur. A case vide FIR No. 78/2025 U/S 8/21/22/ NDPS Act has been registered against them at Police Station Rehambal.
