Cancer tenth leading cause of death among children in India: Lancet study

NEW DELHI: Childhood cancer ranked among the top ten causes of deaths in India, killing 17,000 in 2023, according to the latest findings from the Global Burden of Disease (GBD) 2023 study. 94 pc of world's childhood cancer deaths occur in low, middle-income countries, study finds

New Delhi, Apr 3 (PTI) Ninety four per cent of childhood cancer deaths and 85 per cent of new cases occur in low and middle-income countries, highlighting persistent inequities in healthcare access and treatment, according to a global analysis published in The Lancet journal. UP govt likely to declare cancer as a notifiable disease

Lucknow, March 31 (IANS) The Yogi Adityanath government in Uttar Pradesh is considering a proposal to include cancer, especially among children, among the list of notifiable diseases to facilitate early detection and cure, said a senior health department official on Tuesday. UP to form task force for kids' cancer care

Lucknow: UP has to set a 100-100-60 target to improve childhood cancer care in the state.
