Shimla: Chief minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu on Friday stressed the importance of skill development to create employment opportunities for the youth.Sukhu was chairing the 16th board of directors' meeting of Himachal Pradesh Kaushal Vikas Nigam (HPKVN). He directed the HPKVN to formulate a comprehensive action plan for market-driven training programmes and ensure their effective implementation.The CM said enhancing the capacity and employability of the youth must remain the focus of all initiatives.Sukhu further directed the HPKVN to expedite the ongoing construction work of the centre of excellence at Waknaghat in Solan district, model career centres in Kaza and Udaipur, and the rural livelihood centre at Nalagarh.He said the HPKVN should ensure quality in the construction works so that the youth could get maximum benefit.The CM said from Jan 1, 2023, till now, a total of 45,455 youth were enrolled in various schemes and projects of the Himachal Pradesh Skill Development Corporation. Shimla, Jul 3 (PTI) With the recovery of two more bodies, the death toll in the cloudburst and flash flood-related incidents in Himachal Pradesh's Mandi has mounted to 13 while search is underway for 29 others missing, officials said on Thursday.
