NEW DELHI: India's women's boxing team delivered a standout performance at the Asian Boxing Championships 2026, finishing at the top of the medal table with 10 medals, including four golds. It was a dominant showing, with every member of the squad returning home with a medal, highlighting the team's strength and consistency under coach Santiago Nieva.The gold medal run began with Minakshi (48kg), who secured a convincing 5-0 win over Mongolia's Nomundari Enkh-Amgalan. Preeti (54kg) followed with an impressive victory against a much more experienced opponent, Chinese Taipei's Huang Hsiao-wen, winning 5-0 to claim gold. Priya (60kg) added another top finish with a solid 3-0 win over North Korea's Won Un-gyong, while Arundhati (70kg) sealed India's fourth gold with a 4:1 victory against Kazakhstan's Bakyt Seidish.India also picked up two silver medals through Jaismine (57kg) and Alfiyan Pathan (80+kg), both finishing as runners-up after strong campaigns. Along with four bronze medals, this ensured a total of 10 medals for the women's team, making them the most successful side in the competition.While the women dominated, the men's team had mixed results but still showed promise.
