Lucknow, April 9 (UNI) After successfully completing the enormous task of Special Intensive Revision ( SIR) of electoral rolls, the Uttar Pradesh government is now gearing up for another mega process of the 2027 Census. The final publication of electoral rolls after SIR will be made on Friday and now the state government has pulled its socks for the census. State Chief Secretary SP Goyal has directed that a verified digital database of about 5.5 lakh enumerators and supervisors be prepared by tomorrow. He also emphasized the need to raise public awareness and complete all preparations within the stipulated timeframe, ensuring that there are absolutely no flaws or shortcomings. Instructions were also issued to complete high-quality training for all personnel between April 16 and May 7. Special emphasis was placed on ensuring an accurate enumeration in densely populated areas, urban centres, and slum clusters. The state Chief Secretary said the census process would be entirely digital. Meanwhile, a 'Self-Enumeration Portal' will be available for the general public in UP from May 7 to 21, allowing citizens to personally enter their family details. A large-scale public awareness campaign will be launched to ensure that people are well-informed about this facility. On the other hand , Registrar General and Census Commissioner Mrityunjay Kumar Narayan , who reviewed the process in UP yesterday, stated that census data determines the trajectory of the nation''s development; therefore, it is imperative to execute this exercise as a mass movement involving the entire public. The house-listing phase of Census 2027 is scheduled to commence on May 22. In preparation for this, a refresher training program for field trainers was organized on Wednesday at the Municipal Corporation headquarters. The session was attended by municipal employees and officials who have been deputed for census duties. They were provided with a comprehensive and detailed explanation of key information pertinent to the census operations.
