Srinagar, Apr 07: In a major breakthrough, Jammu & Kashmir Police have busted an interstate terror module linked to the Pakistan-based outfit Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT), arresting five individuals, including two Pakistani terrorists. A senior police official told Rising Kashmir that among those apprehended is a top wanted LeT operative, Abdullah alias Abu Hureira, who had been evading arrest for the past 16 years. Another Pakistani terrorist, identified as Usman alias Khubaib, has also been taken into custody. The operation, described as part of a larger anti-terror crackdown, was carried out at multiple locations across several states. The police official said the probe has been extended beyond the Union Territory, with coordinated operations in Punjab carried out in collaboration with central agencies. According to officials, the operation was based on specific intelligence inputs and digital intercepts indicating the presence of a wider Lashkar network operating outside Jammu and Kashmir. Investigators are now working to establish possible links with local modules and support systems.
