Indore (Madhya Pradesh): As the mystery surrounding the disappearance of Sonam Raghuwanshi in Meghalaya continues to remain unsolved, CCTV footage from a hotel surfaced on Thursday showing Sonam and her husband Raja checking out on May 22. Sonam was clearly seen wearing white attire while leaving the hotel. A woman's white shirt was also recovered near Raja's body on June 2. To understand the investigation's progress, Free Press spoke to a senior police official in Indore, who said, "Considering she was last seen wearing white, there are mainly two possibilities. One is that something tragic happened to her and her body was dumped after her murder. The second is that she was kidnapped and taken elsewhere." Despite 12 days of searching, no clue has yet been found regarding Sonam's whereabouts. Family believes Sonam is alive, suspects human trafficking The family of the couple suspects that Sonam was kidnapped and may have fallen victim to human trafficking. They claim that had she been murdered, her body would likely have been recovered by now. Raja Raghuwanshi's brother Vipin said, "I believe Sonam is alive and has become a victim of human trafficking following her abduction. I once again demand a CBI probe. Where the local police have failed, the CBI might succeed and justice will be served. Raja deserves justice and Sonam must be rescued. There is still no trace of her." Those responsible will be brought to justice: Meghalaya CM Meghalaya Chief Minister Conrad K. Sangma has assured that his government will ensure justice is served in Raja Raghuwanshi's murder. "We will leave no stone unturned to make sure those responsible for this incident are brought to justice," Sangma told local reporters.
