Jajpur Town: In another case of gunfire in Odisha a youth was shot in Jajpur district of Odisha yesterday night and thus he turned critical. The incident took place near Kalimegha under Jajpur police station limits. The accused fled the scene after the shooting. The victim has been identified as Somya Ranjan Samal of Kuansarpur. Jajpur: At least 15 persons were injured, five of them seriously, in a clash between supporters of an Independent MLA and a BJD leader in Jajpur district on Sunday, police said. Several vehicles, including bikes and cars, were vandalised in the clash in the farmhouse of BJD leader and former Dharmasala MLA Pranab Kumar Balabantaray near Panturi under Jenapur police limits, police said. JAJPUR: A 27-year-old man succumbed to bullet injuries after being allegedly shot by unidentified miscreants in Jajpur town on Monday night. The deceased was identified as Soumya Ranjan Samal, a resident of Kuansarpur under Jajpur Town police limits. Police sources said Samal was returning home after closing his shop at Shitaleswar market when two motorcycle-borne miscreants opened fire on him near Kalimegha.
