Greater Noida Link Expressway to connect Yamuna and Ganga expressways, boost access to Noida Airport

New Delhi: Following the inauguration of the Noida International Airport (NIA), UPEDA has now accelerated the construction of a 'Link Expressway'. This will serve as a connecting link between the Yamuna Expressway and the Ganga Expressway. The move will ensure easy and fast connectivity to the newly inaugurated Noida Airport which was inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on March 28. The flights from the airport are scheduled to begin from mid-April. UPEDA will prepare a detailed project report (DPR) for the Link Expressway by May and will submit it to the government for approval. The construction of the expressway is expected to begin soon. Ganga Expressway from Meerut to Prayagraj The Ganga Expressway is a government project that connects Meerut directly to Prayagraj. Not just that it also connects several districts of western and central Uttar Pradesh. The newly constructing link expressway will connect the Yamuna Expressway and the Ganga Expressway, providing a convenient route for travellers to Noida Airport. This expressway will also boost regional development and economic activity. Technical features of Link Expressway The total length of the link expressway will be 74.3 kms with a width of 120 meters. The section that will pass from Gautam Buddha Nagar will be 20 kms long and the section passing through Bulandshahr will be 54.3 kms long. The route will pass through Syana in Bulandshahr and connect to the Ganga Expressway near Film City in Yamuna City. Project approval and its significance The Link Expressway is a UPDA project and has already received in-principle approval from government. This expressway will help save people's time. It will also ensure people traveling to Noida Airport from various districts in western Uttar Pradesh don't face any difficulty and have convinient route. Once completed, the expressway will not just strengthen the connectivity of Noida Airport but will also improve regional development and tourism with smooth traffic flow.
