Stamford man pleads guilty to sexual crimes against a child under the age of 13

DELHI, N.Y. (WBNG) -- A Stamford man has pleaded guilty to sexual crimes against a child under the age of 13. 79-year-old Stanley Suchy pleaded guilty to course sexual conduct against a child in exchange for 10 years in prison and 20 years of post-release supervision, registration as a sex offender and other fines and restrictions. In November of 2025, Suchy was indicted on three counts of predatory sexual assault against a child and an additional charge of sexual conduct against a child. Suchy admitted to multiple instances of sexual contact with a child under the age of 13 between 2010 and 2020. This district attorney's office says the abuse started when the child was around two years old. Suchy has been remanded to the Delaware County Jail to await sentencing, scheduled for later this month. "These are difficult cases to investigate and prosecute," said District Attorney Shawn Smith. "This one was especially complicated because the alleged sexual assault took place over a decade ago. Thanks to the dedicated professional efforts of the state police and our prosecutors, we were able to finally hold this defendant accountable for the atrocious acts he perpetrated against a young child, and we were able to do so without forcing the child to testify in court." Because of Suchy's age, Smith expected the 10-year sentence to amount to life in prison.

In 2021, the selection boiled down to Anil Kant or B Sandhya, while in 2023 it was Shaik Darvesh vs K Padmakumar.
