Mumbai: Following backlash and summons, rapper Badshah apologised to the National Commission for Women (NCW) over his controversial song 'Tateeree', which allegedly hurt the dignity of women and promised to create a women-centric song within four months. The controversy erupted soon after the song's release last month, prompting the NCW to take suo motu cognisance of the matter. On Tuesday, Badshah appeared before the panel chaired by Vijaya Rahatkar. The commission noted that the lyrics and presentation of Tateeree were objectionable and detrimental to women's dignity. Rahatkar expressed serious concern, stating that such content cannot be ignored, and directed those involved to ensure similar incidents do not recur. The rapper was accompanied by directors Joban Sandhu and Mahavir Singh, along with producer Hiten. All parties submitted unconditional written apologies, acknowledging the concerns raised and expressing regret over the impact of the song.
