Hyderabad, Apr 7 (PTI) The unresolved division of State Road Transport Corporation (RTC) assets between Telangana and Andhra Pradesh following the state bifurcation in 2014 recently led to a stand-off between the two states, though the situation has since stabilised. The bone of contention was Bus Bhavan, the RTC headquarters here, where Block A was allotted to Andhra, while Block B was under the control of Telangana RTC. Based on a government directive, the commercial taxes department of Telangana sought to occupy the vacant floors of Block A a few days ago, official sources said on Tuesday. However, Andhra RTC officials protested because they were not consulted. Although commercial taxes officials tried to take possession, they could not, and APSRTC officials locked and sealed the premises, sources said. APSRTC officials informed the state government's higher-ups about the issue. The Andhra government officials wrote to their counterparts in Telangana, urging them to put the matter on hold. There was no formal reply from Telangana to the Andhra government's letter so far, the sources added. The division of assets and liabilities between Telangana and Andhra Pradesh following the state's bifurcation in 2014 is still pending and is also being heard in courts. PTI SJR SJR ROH
