Guwahati (Assam) [India], April 7 (ANI): As Assam approaches its crucial Assembly elections, the passport controversy has escalated, with incumbent MLA and Raijor Dal chief Akhil Gogoi on Tuesday sharply criticising Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma over the police raid at Congress leader Pawan Khera's Delhi residence. Gogoi condemned the state government's actions as authoritarian, likening them to a "Hitler-style government." Speaking to the media, Akhil Gogoi, who is contesting from Sivasagar assembly constituency, said all people of Assam would vote for the Opposition, accusing the Chief Minister of hiding behind the police. He added that Pawan Khera's questions deserved direct answers. He also suggested that, based on the Chief Minister's body language, his wife had accumulated these assets and asserted that the Gogoi family would form the government, with all three Gogois winning. "All people of Assam will vote for the opposition. The language used by the Chief Minister is like that of the police -- he always hides behind the police and courts. It feels like a Hitler-style government is running in Assam. Pawan Khera raised questions, and those should be answered directly. The CM doesn't have the courage and is using the police instead. From his body language, it seems his wife has accumulated these assets. We will form the government, and all three Gogois will win," Gogoi said.
