Faith, prayers, remembrance permeate in Jamshedpur Easter celebrations | The Avenue Mail

Jamshedpur: Joining Christians across the world, the community in Jamshedpur celebrated Easter on Sunday with deep devotion and joy. The festival, which marks the resurrection of Lord Jesus Christ, was observed with special prayer services and gatherings in churches across the city. From the early hours of the morning, large numbers of devotees flocked to churches in different localities to participate in special prayer services organized for the occasion. The atmosphere was filled with spiritual fervor as worshippers came together to commemorate the resurrection of Jesus Christ, which, according to Christian belief, took place three days after his crucifixion on Good Friday. During the services, devotees offered prayers and reflected on the core message of Easter peace, love, hope, and humanity. Many expressed their resolve to imbibe these values in their daily lives, emphasizing the importance of compassion and unity. Following the church services, a significant number of people visited cemeteries to pay homage to their departed loved ones. They offered flowers and garlands at graves, prayed for the peace of souls, and spent time remembering their ancestors. The visits reflected a deep sense of respect and emotional connection with those who had passed on. Members of the Christian community believe that the resurrection of Jesus Christ symbolizes hope beyond death and reinforces faith in the continuity of life. Easter, therefore, is not only a celebration of a religious event but also a powerful reminder of renewal and new beginnings. The day concluded with a sense of spiritual fulfillment, as the festival once again spread a message of positivity, faith, and togetherness among the people of Jamshedpur. (w/gsd)
