Hyderabad, Apr 6 (UNI) Telangana is gearing up to position itself as a global sports hub, with Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy outlining an ambitious roadmap to transform the Gachibowli Stadium into a world-class integrated sports complex. Chairing a Sports Hub Board meeting held at a hotel in Banjara Hills on Sunday night, the Chief Minister emphasised that the State must strive to become a model for sports development in the country. He held detailed discussions with board members on the master plan for upgrading the Gachibowli Stadium to international standards. Revanth Reddy proposed developing the stadium into a comprehensive sports facility equipped with state-of-the-art infrastructure for both indoor and outdoor disciplines, along with advanced training amenities. He directed officials to construct athletics and football stadiums in line with global standards and to establish specialised training centres catering to a wide range of sports. Highlighting Hyderabad's potential to emerge as a premier destination for international sporting events, the Chief Minister said the upgraded stadium should serve as a benchmark for excellence nationwide. He also called upon the corporate sector to contribute through Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) funds for the development of the stadium.
