Uttar Pradesh: What began as a routine activity of parking a car inside the house turned tragic in Farrukhabad, Uttar Pradesh, when a 70-year-old woman was crushed to death. The incident occurred when her grandson, driving a Mahindra Thar, failed to put the handbrake, causing the vehicle to reverse suddenly and crush her. The incident took place around 8:30 PM on Thursday, April 2. She stands outside, holding the gate as the vehicle rolls in, then walks up to close the left side of the gate, followed by the right. Just as she was locking the gate, the Thar suddenly surged backwards, pushing her out and continuing to reverse until it crushed her against a wall. The woman can be heard screaming, clueless about what was happening to her. Her grandson can be seen running out to help her, trying to stop the SUV. He calls his father, tries to open the car door before running inside the house to call for help. However, he could not stop the vehicle from repeatedly hitting the wall. The elderly woman was rushed to a private hospital for treatment, where she was declared dead. The woman, who was locking the door, was caught behind it and crushed against the rear wall. "No formal report or written complaint regarding this matter has been submitted to the local police station by the woman's family members. Necessary action will be initiated upon receipt of a formal complaint. Peace and order currently prevail at the scene," NDTV police quoted as saying.

New Delhi, Sep 5 (PTI) Tata Motors on Friday said it will cut passenger vehicle prices ranging between Rs 75,000 and Rs 1.45 lakh effective September 22 to pass on the full benefit of GST reduction to customers. The Mumbai-based auto major said that its small car Tiago will see a price drop of Rs 75,000, Tigor Rs 80,000, and Altroz Rs 1.10 lakh.
