Jammu: Speaker of the Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly, Abdul Rahim Rather, on Friday directed the government to take corrective measures within two months to safeguard the dignity, privileges and protocol of Members of the Legislative Assembly. The Speaker issued the directions while concluding a short-duration discussion on the final day of the Assembly session. The discussion was initiated by Pawan Kumar Gupta, who said that the dignity of MLAs had been compromised and alleged that legislators were not being taken into confidence while development plans for their constituencies were being prepared. Rather asked the government to address the concerns raised by members and ensure that the dignity and privileges of legislators are maintained.
