Hyderabad: The Telangana civil supplies department has intensified enforcement against misuse of domestic LPG cylinders amid concerns linked to the West Asia crisis, officials said. Authorities stated that while restrictions have been imposed on commercial LPG, domestic supply continues as per norms. The department said it is taking action against diversion and misuse of domestic cylinders. In a press release issued on Friday, the department said that 3,699 domestic LPG cylinders were seized between March 12 and April 3, with the value of the property estimated at Rs 1.10 crore. Additionally, 70 small LPG cylinders were seized during the period. Officials said 1,275 cases under Section 6A were filed and 216 FIRs were registered as part of the enforcement drive. The department said it is continuing efforts to curb misuse and ensure supply for domestic consumers.
