Dindigul, Apr 3 (PTI) Hitting back at the BJP leader Piyush Goyal for releasing a list of allegations, nicknamed as "chargesheet", against the DMK, calling it "corrupt and dynastic", the Dravidian party's MP Kanimozhi stated the Union minister himself hails from a political family. "Goyal cannot talk about us being dynastic because he himself is one. He comes from a political family, and I think many of the BJP leaders are from political families. Maybe the prime minister is not, but a lot of them (party leaders) are. I don't think they should talk about that," Kanimozhi told PTI Videos. On March 31, Goyal released the list against the ruling government in the state and has strongly criticised the DMK for alleged corruption and perpetuating family rule under Chief Minister M K Stalin and his son Udhayanidhi Stalin. In an exclusive interview with PTI Videos, Kanimozhi also asserted that DMK representatives are in politics because they have been chosen by the people through elections, not simply due to their lineage. Addressing the NDA's accusations of graft, the DMK MP termed the BJP a "huge washing machine". "The minute you ally with them or you become a BJP card-holding member, then everything is forgotten. They just throw you into that huge washing machine, and you come out clean. So, I don't think BJP has the right to call someone else corrupt," Kanimozhi said. She further accused the central government of weaponising agencies like the CBI, Enforcement Directorate, and Income Tax department to target opposition parties. The Deputy General Secretary of DMK also rubbished the narrative that the DMK is an anti-Hindu party. She noted that the vast majority of beneficiaries of the state's welfare schemes are Hindus. "We believe in an inclusive state and governance. And we also think that minority rights have to be protected. But that doesn't mean that we are against the Hindus," Kanimozhi said.
