Hyderabad: Devotees celebrated Sri Hanuman Jayanthi with fervor across Telangana on Thursday. The lanes and bylanes were decorated with saffron flags and bunting and long serpentine queues were seen at Lord Sri Hanuman temples. A large number of people stood in queue at the famous Sri Tadbund Veeranjaneya Swamy Temple and at Kondagattu Anjaneya Swamy Temple in Jagtial district to seek blessings of Lord Sri Hanuman. Special prayers and bhajans were conducted at the temples to mark the occasion. In the afternoon, several temple committees provided free food to devotees apart from prasadam and water sachets. The main highlight of the celebrations was 'Sri Veera Hanuman Vijay Yatra' organized by the Bajrang Dal from Sri Ram Mandir in Gowliguda to Tadbund Hanuman temple. Wearing saffron turban and 'kurtha', youngsters enthusiastically took part in the rally. The rally would pass through from Gowliguda Sri Ram Mandir via Narayanguda, RTC crossroads, Ashok Nagar, Kavadiguda, and Bible House, culminating at the Tadbund Hanuman Temple. The Hyderabad Police Commissioner VC Sajjanar conducted a comprehensive coordination meeting at the Osmania Medical College Auditorium, Koti and issued guidelines to government departments and procession organizers. This year, approximately 168 tributary processions from various parts of the city will join the main rally. Massive security blanket involving 3,000 police personnel, along with additional armed forces and Task Force teams, will be deployed at strategic locations. A Joint Control Room will be operational at the ICCC Building, Banjara Hills, from 8 am featuring representatives from all line departments to address issues in real-time. Organizers were advised to keep a close watch on any new individuals joining the rally and report suspicious activities to the local police immediately. To prevent traffic congestion, a sufficient number of trained 'Rope Party' volunteers must be deployed. The procession must strictly follow the designated routes and avoid narrow lanes if using heavy vehicles. At Kondagattu Anjaneya Swamy Temple, devotees thronged in large numbers.
