Jammu, Apr 01: Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha on Wednesday directed the adoption of a 'Zero Tolerance' policy against the drug menace in Jammu and Kashmir. Chairing a high-level meeting with Deputy Commissioners, SSPs, and senior officials of the civil and police administration at Lok Bhavan, Jammu, the LG called for a multi-pronged strategy, strengthening law enforcement to dismantle trafficking networks, intensifying mass awareness campaigns to deter potential users, and enhancing treatment, counselling, and rehabilitation services to make the Union Territory drug-free. "Action against drug abuse must be our top priority. We need a collective mechanism to safeguard our youth and ensure a healthy future for Jammu and Kashmir," Sinha said. The Lieutenant Governor further directed the strengthening of grassroots intelligence and coordinated, stringent action against drug smugglers.
