Mumbai: Filmmaker Rohit Shetty's team has issued a clarification after reports alleged that he was using police stickers and flashing lights on his personal vehicles. Reports had claimed that at least two of the filmmaker's private SUVs carried police-style markings and lights, which are typically restricted to official law enforcement vehicles under the Motor Vehicles Act, 1988. However, his team clarified that these were used only for security reasons after the February incident and were not intended to misuse police authority. According to the filmmaker's spokesperson, the stickers were part of temporary security measures put in place following a firing incident outside his residence earlier this year and have since been removed. The spokesperson clarified, "Following the firing incident at Rohit Shetty's residence, the police had implemented heightened security measures and provided protection. Identification stickers were placed during the initial phase which have now been discontinued." Shetty's team further confirmed that he continues to remain under police protection, with two personnel deployed for his safety as the matter is under active surveillance. "At present, Rohit Shetty continues to remain under police security... We extend our sincere appreciation to the Mumbai Police for their steadfast support and cooperation during this challenging period," the statement further read. The controversy began after a firing incident outside Rohit Shetty's residence on February 1, for which the Bishnoi gang claimed responsibility. Following the incident, Shetty sought increased security from the Mumbai Police Commissioner, citing safety concerns for himself and his Golmaal 5 team. Bengaluru, Dec 16 (PTI) A 57-year-old woman fell prey to an alleged "digital arrest" scam and lost over Rs 2.05 crore to cybercriminals, who posed as law enforcement officials, police said on Tuesday.
