Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh): Commercial LPG cylinder prices have increased by ₹195 in Madhya Pradesh from April 1. The hike comes just 25 days after domestic LPG cylinder prices were increased by ₹60. More than 50,000 hotels and restaurants in the state are reportedly receiving only about 9% of the LPG cylinders they require. Due to the shortage, several hotels and restaurants have changed their menus. Food prices are also expected to rise in the coming days. Among the state's major cities, the price of a 19-kg commercial LPG cylinder is now ₹2,084 in Bhopal, ₹2,186 in Indore, ₹2,295 in Jabalpur, ₹2,307 in Gwalior and ₹2,251 in Ujjain. The highest price has been reported in Rewa, where a cylinder costs ₹2,331. In several districts such as Narsinghpur, Singrauli, Satna, Katni, Balaghat and Panna, prices are ₹2,300 or more. The lowest price in the state is in Indore. Earlier, a cylinder there cost ₹2,021, but after the hike it is now ₹2,186. In other districts, prices are ₹2,091 in Shajapur and Sehore, ₹2,114 in Harda, ₹2,119 in Sagar, and ₹2,120 in Narmadapuram and Vidisha. Meanwhile, Abhishek Baheti from the National Restaurant Association of India said gas agencies earlier gave discounts of ₹200-₹250 per cylinder, but now restaurants have to pay the full price. He added that the price rise will increase expenses by about ₹500 per cylinder. Many restaurants switched to induction Many restaurants in Bhopal and other parts of Madhya Pradesh have switched from LPG to induction stoves due to the shortage of commercial gas cylinders.
